On the beach

I am now spending three afternoons a week on the beach, either windsurfing or paddleboarding; in a more focused effort to keep the Spike body operating beyond its sell-by date. Yesterday, the wind was still building when I arrived, so I took my camera and walked along the shore line.

There was the usual collection of junk, dead fish, and sea shells and I soon found myself playing around to create what I decided to call “The last straw”.

Unfortunately, at web size it is hard to make out that the object in the middle is a drinking straw, still in its wrapper; but at full size the magnificence of the image and the biting social commentary is quite clear; I expect a gallery to be in touch soon.

Still, handling rotting fish is not the best way to spend your time, so I concentrated on finding some naturally posed subjects; although a couple of these had some help.
