Thereby hangs a tail

· 273 words · 2 minute read

It’s been a while since I dragged my Olympus out of the cupboard. Several weeks of playing with film, followed by a period of wet weather, general lethargy and a burning need to complete The Talos Principle (42 hours); meant that my digital camera has not been in my hands for a while. And given that Songkran is upon us and I therefore don’t intend going anywhere for the next week, the chances of anything photographic happening is remote. But then she who must be obeyed spotted this in the garden:

Impressively long tail, and it was quite happy for me to come closer for a few shots.

Strangely enough, I’ve seen many pictures of chameleons (if that’s what this lizard is) shot with Olympus gear. If I remember correctly, Robin Wong of Malaysia is one of them. I guess the E-M1 and the fabulous M. Zuiko Pro 40~150mm f2.8 use the scaly skin to highlight the sharpness of this premier outfit. Overhead / side lighting helps. Nice photos, Spike…good show and all that rot !

looks more like a Gila type lizard - if he’s a chameleon he’s not doing too good a job blending in - although being Thailand perhaps this is the lizard approach to Singha wifebeater, shorts and flip flops…

Could be a copy, not everything you see in Thailand is genuine.

ah, the genuine copies of the copies - yes hadn’t thought of that…
