There is much to do and see this weekend in Pattaya.
You can battle the crowds and watch the firework festival. You can choke on fumes and enjoy the drift racing championship. You can go and watch assorted horse related events at the Thai Polo Club. Or you can go and buy a boat.
The boat show is being held, fittingly, at the Marina south of Jomtien and we popped in their briefly this morning before returning home to wait for my lens to arrive.
There were boats on the water, boats on the land, and assorted outlets selling the sort of things that people who can afford boats like to buy.

I expect this was the most expensive boat, although it was by no means the most attractive:

This was more the sort of gin palace I might enjoy:

This was only 7.9 million, except the currency was US dollars:

This was a more attainable 5 million baht; and very pretty too:

Best of all:

I did once harbour (sic) the idea of getting a boat; but heard enough horror stories about shoddy maintenance, rip-offs and spirally costs from existing owners that I decided to get married instead.
The boat show is on until Sunday if you fancy popping down and purchasing something that floats.

I once made the mistake to own a speedboat and besides the horror stories it is bloody boring. I would prefer to go with the wind.
