The pussy emporium

We drove past a new outlet today which was devoted to the retail of all things dog related. For some reason, this awoke my wife’s entrepreneurial spirit.

“When I am rich, I am going to open a place just for cats!”

Notice the “when” rather than “if”; she who must be obeyed is convinced that her various business schemes will one day bear fruit. I am remain cautiously pessimistic; but if it does happen, I have reserved the first twenty million for a Ferrari. I have learned that best response when these scenarios are raised is to just say “that’s a good idea darling”, and then see what happens next.

“That’s a good idea darling.”

“Yes! There will be a cafe area where people can have a coffee and pet the pussies. There will be a pussies for sale section with lots of lovely kittens; and there will a shop where you can buy anything you could possible want for your cat.” “Sounds great. What are you going to call this place?

There was a pause…

“The pussy emporium!” “Do you think that might attract people in Pattaya with absolutely no interest in cats…?”

She considered this very real possibility and announced that she didn’t want ‘juicy heads’ (her name for gentlemen that frequent the more fleshy delights of this fine city) hanging around her high-class feline establishment. So the name would have to be changed.

I have heard nothing since so assume that this latest money-making venture has been shelved for now. Never mind, should have attracted a few juicy heads to click on this post. Can I interest you guys in some cat food?

That reminds me of a student I had in Japan - first meeting and the getting to know you questions included “what do you like to do in your free time? " and her reply was " I like to lay on my futon and pet my pussy " - My first thought was " I should really get to know this woman!” but as a true gentleman I replied " In this case I really thing you should use the word “Cat”…”

There are several pet cafes in Bangkok: http://bk.asia-city.com/city-living/article/bangkoks-top-cafe-pets

I will visit some day, but so far there are plenty of street cats.
