It was with much joy that we found ourselves with six members of the extended family staying for the weekend. How to amuse the younger and more boisterous members?
The expensive answer was the recently opened and partially operating water park on the road south of Pattaya. The soft opening prices are wallet drainingly expensive, 1290 baht for an adult, and 890 baht for kids. If you are not Thai or cannot prove residence, you can add 300 baht to those prices. Food and drink are also very costly and a typical family is going to spend an average Thai’s monthly wage for a day at the park. So it was quite surprising to see how busy it was.

Near the entrance there is the Cartoonival structure which contains assorted slides suitable for the smaller kids and those who don’t crave excitement.

Next to that is the Megawave area which offers a fairly mild wave generator.

If you want more surf to play in, head for the Surfarena where you can attempt to ride a board before being eject backwards into a presumably soft wall:

For the more adventurous, head to the Omniverse and the Adventure Zone where not all attractions are complete. All the available rides were deemed exciting by those that tried them (I was photographer for the day so stayed dry).

Although some parts of the park are still a construction site; those rides that are complete are professionally done and well-managed by teams of attendants that make sure everything is working properly. If they don’t increase the prices once everything is complete, it might even qualify as a value for money day out. I quite fancy a go on some of the rides myself…

2014-10-21| Barry saysLooks good. But clear your mind of thinking that Thais are poor and can’t afford these things. Very very many are not, and if they were the place wouldn’t have been built. Which makes dual pricing all the more obnoxious.
2014-11-10| Mike Bell saysWon’t be going at that price. There is one supposed to be opening at Silverlake. Maybe some competition may make them competitive.
2015-01-17| Monte Smith saysFun for all. But no rafts for lazy river. So everyone had to walk through lazy river. The ride next to it had plenty of rafts and not that busy. So we had to go steal one from the wave pool. then it was ok. The wave pool was boring. It took almost an hour for the wave machine to be turned on and then to run for 5 minutes. When the wave machine is off. It is extremely boring and hot. There was no attendant for lazy river. If you had an attendant or 2 and their own rafts. That would be good. To get in is very expensive and the food is even more so.Also Barry is right. I am poor , but so many young Thai people there. Overall not good.Way too expensive.
2015-04-01| Tom Thorley saysI refuse to visit simply because of the extra 300 baht for non Thais / non residents. Is this done to make Thais and residents feel like they are getting a better deal than ’lesser’ individuals? The operator should also consider the negative effect this has on those ’lesser’ individuals.
