So read the heading of an email from The Son, with a link to a web-based puzzle which looked pretty simple.
All you have to do is slide number tiles together until you reach number 2048, hence the name of the puzzle.
The screen capture above was made by me this afternoon after bloody days of effort on my computer, iPad and phone.
It’s very easy and somehow soothing to play; until numbers start to appear where you don’t want them and then it becomes a wankfest clusterfuck and you have to start again. This happened to me a lot. Then I worked out a system and I managed to get further; then I refined the system and finally cracked it; oh the joy.
I realise I have been accused of wasting time by recommending games in the past, most notably Trade Nations; so I will give fair warning that you will not want to stop until you have cracked this, and it might take a while.
With due warning given, you can access it here.

2014-03-24| Andrew saysI got 8-16-32-64 on my 1st try ( with just random keyboard inputs ) which is much higher than 2048 ( a decidedly small number in the overall jist of things ) so I’m quite happy to go on to other things…with perhaps even higher numbers…which everyone knows is better…right?….
