Next stop on our day out in Nonthaburi was Wat Boromracha Kanchanapisek Anusorn. The temple, which took twelve years to construct, was erected to commemorate King Bhumibol’s reign of 50 years. With materials sourced from China and based on the style of the Forbidden City, it’s an impressive and colourful place.

With Chinese New Year coming up, the young monks were busy with cleaning duties:



Unlike the faded walls of the city hall which benefited from a black and white photo processing treatment, this place was awash with vibrant colours and photos could be used straight out of the camera; and here they are:
