A day at the zoo with Kevin and Anita, who have spent several months of their lives shooting wildlife in Africa (with cameras). Given that, there was probably not much to excite at a slightly faded Thai zoo; but there were meerkats, and you can’t go wrong with a meerkat.

The ostriches were also a favourite, stupid yet charming.

Apart from busloads of schoolkids (who couldn’t decide whether to look at the farangs or the zoo animals) and the occasional noisy Russian, it was fairly quiet; which didn’t really explain why all the snack kiosks around the zoo were shut. Luckily, Kevin discovered an ice cream seller and we depleted his stock of Magnums; otherwise we might have died of whatever the disease is that kills you due to a lack of ice cream.
I mainly used the Olympus 75mm on the E-M1, but the first three of the set below came from my 1963 Jupiter 11.
