Was planning to write a post on the current political situation in Thailand; but it’s such a mess that I couldn’t decide where to start. So instead I decided to change the theme for Pattaya Days. I can’t do much of the editing until the theme is live (unless I install the theme elsewhere first, and that is too much effort for an old fart like me), so please bear with me until it is finished. I thank you.

(I want to express my disapproval of constant changing of website layout, not just your blog, online banking, email accounts, ebay, various forums I read, everyone changes the style ever few years for no apparent reason.)
2013-12-20| Spike saysThanks; but it is not just the theme but all the bits that go with it; would be hard to play with without buggering up the current crap. Good news, for me, is that I have another spare site I can destroy without annoying anyone; and I have.
2013-12-20| Spike saysI want to express my disapproval of constant complaining about web sites which are provided without charge, without advertising and need not be visited if the complainant does not wish to. I wish to change this site so I can include more content, can display bigger photos and can include galleries. If these turn out not to be your liking then I wish you well and I am sure the wide wide world of web is stuffed with websites which have not been updated since 1997.
2013-12-20| Andrew saysDid the cookies change since you updated? - I used to keep a cookie so as to allow comments without having to keep filling in the name + e-mail but the one from the previous layout seems not to work…will see if one from the new layout will do the same…
2013-12-20| Andrew saysNope, doesn’t work anymore ( not in Chrome at least )- back to autofill…
2013-12-20| Andrew saysIt actually doesn’t even seem to carry over on the same session…ie- once you had posted a comment on one entry, when you went to post on a different entry in the same session ( as it did with the kept cookie ) you would get a “Welcome back-” insert name here", but that seems to be gone as well ( possibly some code in the new theme??? )
2013-12-23| ChristianPFC saysMaybe it helps Andrew: my browser (firefox on Windows 7) recognized this blog in new style, I didn’t have to fill in the information before commenting again. I didn’t no anything with cookies or autofill, it just remembered this information from my very first visit.
