Ringed by mountains, Kyoto loses sunlight early in the day in November, with photography involving sunlight being unlikely after 1500 and impossible after 1600; and by 1700 it is dark. On my first day, bereft of sleep, somewhat chilled and in need of a hot shower, hot sake and a good lie down; I was quite happy to abandon my day early. So my final stop was Nanzen-ji temple. I took a few photos in the gathering gloom before scuttling back to my room and some rest.
