What's better than an Olympus E-M1 camera?

Two Olympus E-M1 cameras!

Having sold my E-M5 a couple of days ago, I was feeling a little sad. Then Big Camera delivered as scheduled, and my shiny new precious arrived today; seen here with Kevin’s E-M1 which he has kindly let me play with for the last couple of weeks.

Kevin’s brother wanted his camera included in a photo, so this one is entitled “Beauties and the Beast”:

Now to get it set up and become comfortable with it before taking it to Japan in a couple of weeks. Delightful prospect.

Did you not also pounce on the new 12-40 “Pro” lens? - I get e-mail from Olympus and see they have already discounted it by $200 ( shortly after Sony A7/r announcement ) -that makes it $100 cheaper than the 12mm and supposed to be near as good and would make a very nice walkaround lens with the 75 and maybe the Pana 7-14 - nice small travel kit….

Not currently available; but watch this space. Last trip to Japan convinced me that a bag load of primes is not the way to go for general walk around photography in the daytime.

You and the E-M1 is me and the iPhone 5s….

DigitalRev had their typically dorky take on it today: “It’s bloody hideous looking.” http://www.digitalrev.com/article/olympus-om-d-e-m1/MTYxNTM3MDk0

Half of the review complaining about the looks, and the other half not reviewing it. He is amusing sometimes; but rarely informative. Didn’t even feature Alamby….
