Very nice. But you’re in a girlie why? :)

Your question is open to interpretation. I wasn’t actually in a girlie; but I was taking a stroll down Walking Street with a camera, something I do from time to time.

it was supposed to read “girlie BAR” Oh well, you got the meaning…

Just takin’ the piss. But, actually, I expected the answer to be “just for research purposes.”

Another advantage of the 75mm; I was actually across the street from the bar to take this, far from temptation and complaints from those in the bar who seem to object to being photographed. Oh, and high ISO cleans up so easily on the E-M5 (and the EP-5 too I am sure).

Funny thing about the noise – I shot Friday’s game, as I tried before, with 1/100 sec., in order to freeze action better. To do that, I use S Priority mode and set ISO to AUTO. Using the Panny 100-300mm.

In Settings, I’d allowed ISO to max out at 6400, as I’d had some good luck with that high of ISO during my June game shooting. But the light is so crap at the stadium that the camera maxed out 6400 virtually every shot.

Was very happy with exposure on all the shots, but the noise is really quite heavy - heavier than I remembered the last time (when I used the Oly 75-300)

As you saw in the action shot you favorited on Flickr, the noise reduction made the photos acceptable, but sharpness is not what I’d hoped. I actually bought the Nik Collection and played around with its Dfine (noise reduction) and Sharpener Pro, but still not as good as I’d like.

I posted some more game shots and you can look at the noise issue there.

Shooting games Mon. and Tues. and am going to go back to my previous way, instead of Auto ISO. May end up with more underexposed shots, but I the dynamic range on this sensor is so great that I think pulling up the shadows/blacks actually produces results with less overall noise.

Any thoughts?
