Butterfly overload

· 418 words · 2 minute read

A day of driving to get to Kaeng Krachan National Park. A day of driving to come home again (just arrived). In between, a day spent in the park itself in the company of more butterflies than I have ever seen in one place. Some of them were photographed, here is one:

Many more to follow; but first there is the matter of a shower and good night’s sleep.

That’s just amazing. Great colors! How big was it? (it looks huge, but I guess you used your macro-lens…) You could remove the black spots under the leaf in photoshop (or gimp or paintnet or whatever software). These black spots… now that i noticed them i keep staring at them. -.-

Damn, now I can’t stop staring at them too…

It was quite large by butterfly standards. A few more good shots of the same type. Coming later.

man… I’m sorry. No - wait: you should thank me for giving you a reason to test one of the photoshop alternatives! ;-)

By the way: did you take this photo hand-held or did you use a tripod? It’s hard for me to imagine a butterfly sitting stil for long enough to set up a tripod - but then again this picture is really sharp…

Thank you; for everything.

Hand held. It was up above my head and I had left my tripod extension at home. The image stabilisation of the E-M5 helps a lot.

Leave the black spots, that’s the way it is, natural. Even if you keep looking at them! Kaeng Krachan is only 3 hours away, how did it take you a day to get there? Next race at Kaeng Krachan circuit first weekend in July, come and catch the mayhem….!

Someone needing a pee when you turn left to go south, and thus waste an hour fighting into the lane to get to a garage, and then being caught in roadworks trying to get back on the main road which was rammed solid anyway. Another pee stop. Coffee and food stop. Your “navigator” trying to work out where the resort was; but it wasn’t.

In summary: Thai wife syndrome; doubles the length of any trip.

Butterflies and cars in early July; tempting.
