To fiddle or not to fiddle

Stumbling down a back alley in Siam Square yesterday and I came across this:

*Olympus E-M5 with Panasonic 7-14mm lens * A painted wall with a window into a café. I liked that, seen in isolation, you could easily think it is not real, some sort of collage of images. What I didn’t like was the area on the right through the window with the sun glaring off a car windscreen. I could have come back later when the light was better, but then maybe the place would have been empty of customers, or I would never have found the alley again. But more importantly, I couldn’t be arsed, so was stuck with that shot.

Instead I did some quick and very dirty Photoshop adjustments and made this:

If you hadn’t seen the first image, you probably wouldn’t notice the adjustments on the second; but if you asked whether the second was an untouched photo, I would have to admit that it wasn’t.

What to do? Probably best if I just delete both of them.

I can see why you edited it - but have you tried leaving half of that window in? The second shot is definitely more interesting than the first one, but I’d also find it interesting to see the shot with half the window still there.

The proportions of the original shot are better. Best to photoshop the car out.
