The timetable was specific.
Yesterday was the beach wrestling for men, and today was the day for beach wrestling for women. The location was the Ambassador hotel, so I rolled up there on time with the editor of Patttaydaze in tow; both of us looking forward to capturing some hardcore woman on woman action for our expectant readers.
The Ambassador hotel is a monster of a place, built many years ago and not obviously maintained much since then. Temporary home to desperate tour groups who find themselves miles from civilisation.

Such is the size of the place, it was impossible to spot where the wrestling was taking place, so we headed into one of the many receptions to enquire; only to be told that they had not had enough entries and so had compressed both events into a single day, which was yesterday.
Oh dear. Or alternatively, bugger.
So, no sweaty grappling ladies to photograph, just miles of tower blocks and a couple of flowers. Still, as we were there we decided we should photograph something, so we did. Not what we were expecting, or you were hoping for; but a couple of fun shots in the mix made the trip not a complete waster of time. Then we went for coffee.

No wonder it was all screwed up - the timetable is in French.
2012-09-11| Grant saysHe’ll come out with that ‘deliberate mistake’ nonsense…
So must have been the entry forms, obviously no-one could read them…
2012-09-12| Spike saysIt’s a pattern. I thought it would work better as a pattern if I inverted the image; if you saw it in isolation hanging in a gallery for thousands of pounds you would think “what a bargain” rather than “upside down hotel rooms”.
2012-09-12| Grant saysYes old chap, you’re absolutely right, of course it’s a pattern, I’m sure it’s worth a hugh amount of money, you just sit down now in the air/con and have a nice little rest, I’m sure it will all be alright tomorrow, nothing to worry about here…
2012-09-12| Spike saysI see pixies.
2012-09-12| Grant saysYes of course you do, nice pixies, they’re here to help too, and the men in white coats, don’t mind them, just relax, and the jacket with the straps on the the sleeves, that’s really fun, you’ll be alright… For Dog’s sake hurry up and get him out into the van you guys!!
