Missing you

Just watched qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix, and wishing I had hopped on a plane to enjoy the atmosphere. In consolation, dragged out a shot of pole winner Lewis Hamilton that I took when I attended the race three years ago.

Spike, life is not a rehearsal, it’s what we get. We have all too few acts to play before the final curtain. Don’t wish for it, do it! Do it now! Consolation is for losers. Your last words should be “I did so much I’m gob-smacked and can’t cope with it all.” Not, “Oh well, I’ve had some consolations…” Great photo by the way, were the front wheels to the left of the equippage, or were they running without them that year?

My last words should be “I can’t believe I am driving an orange Lamborghini Reventon at 150 mph through the Tuscany countryside with this young lady with unfeasibly large mammaries sat next to me; and surely that acid tanker is not going to pull out in front of…..”

Beautiful black! Life is to short to worry about cars or female body parts. But beautiful photos (of both) are appreciated very much …. and the inspiring words that come with it or are commented.

But they won’t be, will they… Especially not if you sit at home instead of actually going to the Singapore GP, thus incurring the risk of being asked by Lewis Hamilton to drive the car because he had a bad oyster the night before and doesn’t feel up to it! Who knows, Bernie Ecclestein might pull himself up to his full height of .975 of a metre and punch you straight in the kneecap, what a great photo that would make, looking down on to his little re-sown head! Of course Bernie has his consolations, about 300 billion quid’s worth…

Little Trunky Face, you are truly a model to us all, and a shining beacon of enlightenment to those of us who are mired in our tawdry and soiled world of cars and female body parts. May your light never dim, may your taxis always be complimentary and may all your hookers be clean and free of charge…

There are unfeasibly large mammaries?

Boring race; glad I didn’t go and spent my time sky diving and panning for gold instead.

Not in the natural world…

Quite the right choice old chap, glad to hear you got out of the house, well done!

Hamilton is not going to be a happy teddy after that race - I wonder which team he will be with next season! Race was actually better than anticipated, at least there was some inspired overtaking.

2012-09-24 | Grant says

That’s very interesting Wally, inspired overtaking is almost unheard of in F1 these days and generally means that the teams have been unable to decide whose turn it is to throw the race…

2012-09-24 | Clive says

The BBC coverage of the race picked up an interesting exchange between Lewis and his pit crew when the incident happened - something to the effect that they knew they had a problem with the box and their luck had run out. Which suggests that, if they had known of the problem in qualifying, then a conscious decision was made to run the risk of a race failure, as opposed to taking that mandatory starting place demotion (is it 7 places?) and get a new part…

I am not sure of the details, but just speculating on that radio chatter, I wonder who made the final call to go with a suspect box? Something tells me it might have been Lewis, who seems to have been making a string of rash decisions…

I rather hope he displaces Schuey at Mercedes for the rumoured £60 Million and leaves Jenson and McLaren free to get on and win next year’s championship…

;o)

From comments made I guess Jenson would be happy with Paul Di Resta as a team mate next season - I hope so.

I would love to see Di Resta in the McLaren seat, and it might just be remotely possible since his manager is Lewis’ father!!, but wherever Paul Di Resta ends up he is definitely a talent to keep an eye on for the not too distant future.
