Took a walk down Jomtien beach today with the proprietor of PattayaDaze, and we checked out the beach volleyball competition.
Frustrating sport to photography because the net gets in the way of so many angles. And it is hard to catch the moment because the leap for the ball and the subsequent hit are over before you can finish pressing the shutter, so you have to anticipate. Finally, the mess of colours meant I felt the results looked better in black & white.

2012-08-05| Spanky saysLovely pics. More of the women’s volleyball would have been better. If you aren’t sure how to shoot women’s volleyball just watch the Olympic coverage. It involves lots of closeups on their hand signals.
I do have a question other than snarky comments. What are you using for a camera bag. I have my Ape Case that I use when I have to shoot something requiring the Canon and a backup body, but what are you using for your m43 stuff if you have multiple lenses? I’m looking for recommendations. The three I have just don’t work for me.
2012-08-05| Spike saysHave been through a number of bags before settling on this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/847336-REG/Think_Tank_746_Retrospective_5_Shoulder_Bag.html It’s made of soft material which makes it light and non space consuming. It’s really well made and designed with loads of useful features. It’ll take an M4/3 camera with lens attached, plus two other lenses, with ease; and you could squeeze in more if you wish to. Bigger sizes available; but I wouldn’t want to carry more than that on a normal outing. Plus, I doesn’t look like a camera bag, just an inconspicuous shoulder bag. I like it a lot.

2012-08-05| Spike saysAmerican company; would not want to get sued because a purchaser didn’t find a complete camera set in the box along with the bag….
2012-08-05| Pete says… and of course the correct grammar would be “I don’t look like a camera bag”, not “I doesn’t”. Not that anyone would think you look like any sort of bag, of course!

2012-08-05| Spanky saysSad but true on the purchaser part. We have warnings that coffee is hot and may spill because of a lawsuit. Common sense and our court system aren’t terms used together very often.
