High flying June

Thank (insert deity of your choice) for that.

The visitor statistics for this site suffered a massive blip in May 2010; courtesy of a post about a certain Mr. Jeff Savage, who later visited upon us with death threats and other dire warnings. I rather hoped to someday overcome the Jeff effect; and June was finally the month to break the record.

Eleven thousand, five hundred and twelve visits, which is around eleven thousand, five hundred more than I could reasonably expect.

And what brought so many people here, in a month that could not honestly be called “thirty days of classic posts”; not even by my Mum and not just because she is dead? For the answer, we have to return to the distant past; May 31st 2012 to be exact, when I published a post about Art in Paradise.

Every day since then, the most popular Google search term leading to this site has been “Art in Paradise Pattaya”; leaving perennial favourites such as “Pattaya Pussy” (a routine source of disappointment to many) and “Soi 6 arse bandits” struggling to keep up. And as a result, the most visited post, every day this last month, has been the Art in Paradise offering, accumulating nearly 2,000 of the hits.

I suspect that this is because there are a load of people interested in the place; but the official website offers very little information. Neither does my post; but at least there are plenty of pictures.

So, well done June for being the bestest (sic) month ever; with only a small black mark for being the month where I received a threat of libel and defamation charges for some things that my uncle wrote and posted on the site without my knowledge (I am preparing my defence; all I need to do now is find a willing uncle). Should this ever make it to court and be resolved; be assured you will hear all about it and maybe we can have another record month which will beat June.

We have also passed the 6,000 comment mark, so thanks for that; and have also deleted 18,000 spam messages, so thanks to the wonderful Akismet spam catcher built into Wordpress which caught almost all of them. And and to all those who generate spam: fuck off.

And what is in store for the month ahead? As usual, I have no idea but no doubt something will turn up, in addition to a summons.

Congrats and keep on writing. I’ll be happy to be your uncle. In any other country this may prove a difficult thing to believe seeing how I am younger than you, but in Thailand anything is possible!
