Listless

I know, it’s been a while….

I can sum up my condition in one word: listless. If you want two words: worryingly listless.

I have always been someone with considerable enthusiasm for anything mildly interesting that passes my way. This can end up being expensive (radio controlled aircraft, windsurfing, photography) as I embrace a new passion and throw money and time at it; but at least it is better than having no interests at all and just spending my life slumped in a chair watching mindless entertainment.

So it is of some concern (to me) that all I have felt like doing over the past two weeks is to be slumped in a chair watching mindless entertainment.

Haven’t picked up my camera, haven’t been near the water, no interest in maintaining this site. Just feeling crap and wishing I wasn’t. Wake up feeling reasonable, if not exactly enthused; but by early afternoon I am reduced to a shaky, exhausted blob; searching for the nearest horizontal surface to have a nap. This is not living.

I am hoping that this condition is somehow related to my ongoing thyroid treatment and it will pass. If it’s something else then I hope it will pass. If it doesn’t pass, then I am fucked; and so is this site.

Time will tell; meantime I apologise for the lack of updates.

Sounds like it could be down to Mono (glandular fever). Several people I know in my line of work have experienced it and it can take months to shake off. Thought about having a thorough check-up?

G/F, the dreaded ‘kissing disease’, prick of a thing, had it in my teens. You’ve got some of the symptoms but what ever you do for Dogs sake don’t google it!

While I am not a doctor nor play one on the tele I do work with them and have a mother that had your condition. It sounds like it is your thyroid because your hormones are out of whack. I am also extremely glad that you are posting again. Don’t give us a scare like that!

I have an exclusive kissing contract with she who must be obeyed, so I don’t think it’s that; plus the symptoms don’t really match. I’m going with the thyroid option and will find out more when I see my doc again in ten days time. Thanks for the wishes.

I’m sure you’re right, after all, you were nuclear powered for a while there and that can’t be much fun, although it does seem to work quite well for submarines. Rest up and just post enough so that we know you’re OK. Genuinej was so upset he nearly split an infinitve… Don’t forget my gecko on the ceiling please.
