This could be part of an ad campaign. The first shot especially is perfect - great exposure!

Farmer John there with the beard lives in my (former) building. He’s probably using the iPad to determine how many years are between him and the “girlfriends” he regularly takes there.

I love the look of wonder on the face of one of the girls. However, because I’m an old fart I fail to see the real attraction of these devices. Just something more to carry around, too big to hold comfortably while standing on the packed-to-the-gills Skytrain, can’t put it in your pocket. Maybe okay for a girl or ladyboy’s handbag. Once upon a time we managed to exist without checking for messages every few minutes, and I wonder why that has changed. The Galaxy Tab appears to be a good compromise between a phone and a pad, but I don’t need one badly enough to spend 20,000 baht. Mind you, a friend who came over from Laos informed me that iPads around the border area go for about 3-4,000.

I wonder if the gentleman with the beard is the catoonist M.J.B. of ‘Amuzingthaicartoons’ !

The iPads at the border for 3-4000 baht are not iPads.

I think farmer Joe has an catalog of beach-road girls & boys and is just marketing his bizz. Really still wondering why people carry such a device with them. Mind you my house is full of useless gadgets, but carrying them around?

Farmer Joe is Mike Baird the Cartoonist to the Pattaya Mail for the last 13 Years - He`s not a Farmer - Nor has he in the 30 years of being in Pattaya ever taken a Girl from Beach Road - nor is he Gay so why do you people come out with so many untruths . ’ BOB’ i have had the same girlfriend for six years - so What is the matter with you ? I bought the iPad to display my collection of 2,500 cartoon and my hundreds of paintings and murals I did years ago. ( Some people are interested in my work ) Anyway Spike - I’m always checking your site from time to time - Love your Photos.
