It's thyroid time

· 362 words · 2 minute read

Tomorrow I head to Bangkok where I will partake of a small dose of death. On Monday they will scan my neck and check the uptake of radioactivity, and then give me the required dose to deliver a knockout blow to my thyroid. I am taking my camera but not sure they will let me photograph anything (or maybe the radioactivity will wipe my sensor); but I am hoping to be able to provide full coverage of this exciting event.

Or maybe I will just sleep. Feeling increasingly crap and depressed as the thyroid rages unchecked, and will probably feel this way for a while yet. Do not expect the same volume of posts.

She who must be obeyed has been her usual supportive self. Today she did some research on what might be good for me to eat in this condition. I was suggesting donuts, but she proclaimed donuts to be on the list of prohibited foods. After a bit more research she decided there was actually nothing I could eat; so we went and had some therapeutic cake.

I didn’t push my luck and ask why this might be preferable to donuts.

As usual an excellent photo, with consideration of both foreground and background elements. But I really commented to wish you all the best with this operation!

Thanks. The diseases don’t really matter, as long as the photos turn out OK!

Yes, good luck with it Spike, your loyal fans need you to outlive us all!! You could have called your thyroid Drew, but he no longer rages unchecked…

This of course is much more preferable because it looks much better of a photo! Keep them coming those photos.

Good luck. Your life is an open book (with photos, especially of horses and men at sea on boards), and we await the next installment.
