I had a bike once. Honda 125cc, what a beast. The idea was I would drive it to work and save on fuel. Great idea, except this was Aberdeen and I had to spend an hour dressing and undressing so I would not freeze on the bike. The road didn’t care though and it froze anyway, and put me in a ditch; twice. Honda was sold.
But I do love the Burapa Bike Week and it pisses me off that it has clashed with a polo commitment for the last two years; thus giving me only a quick hour in the hot afternoon sunshine to grab a few shots.
It’s true that it can be hard to find anyone capable of building a straight wall here in Thailand; but there is no shortage of craftsmanship as you can see when you check out some of the amazing custom bikes. No shortage of interesting characters too!
So here is my very quick tour round the site:

2012-02-12| Woradate saysGreat tour, I wish to be there a time.
2012-02-15| Jamie in Phuket saysPhuket Bike Week is in April. Bikes, beards, birds on bikes, beer, beer bellies and tattoos. I will try to find time off from work for some photos of all of the above. Rather like you, my biggest meanest bike ever has been a Honda Wave. I feel rather more comfy in my Honda City. But for sure, some of the bikes you see on display are very impressive. Phuket Bike week is on 6 - 8 April. A few pics I took in 2009 : http://jamie-monk.blogspot.com/2009/04/phuket-bike-week.html
2012-02-15| Spike saysIf your audience is anything like mine, suggest you focus on birds of bikes and beer boobies.
2012-02-16| Jamie in Phuket saysTrying not to cater to that audience! But I guess a bunch of “pretty” photos might get past the censor (my wife) on a Phuket Bike Week blog post :)
