A public service announcement

I realise that this site has already descended into being a camera tech blog; and this is not going to help, but….

I seem to have been indirectly responsible for a few of my gentle readers investing in the very fine Panasonic GX1. Those readers may like to know that Panasonic have released a firmware (or as we call it in this home, spermware) update for the GX1. You can, and probably should, get it here.

You will also notice that you can also update the spermware of your lenses; and the rather excellent 100-300mm has an update too if you happen to own the lens.

End of message. You’re welcome.

You forgot to add Polo. Think of the adsense revenue streaming in by being a niche blog focusing strictly on camera tech for polo! I see millions in your future!

If any of the ‘convertees’ to Micro 4/3 cameras intend to offload their existing DSLR camera gear, I could well be interested in some Canon EF or EF-S lenses. Spike has my e-mail address. Hopefully, when the economy (exchange rate improves) I will also consider converting.

Actually I am selling my 50D and 24-105L. If you’re UK based, I’ll get your email…

Many thanks for your reply and offer - but at about £500 ish for a used 50D and a further £700 ish for a used 24-105L I’m afraid that I will have to give it a miss. See my last line in my original post. Like most Brit retirees in Pattaya I am struggling to survive at the moment - but like your Dad, the urge for a fairly decent lens occasionally outweighs the need for food and other essentials. It’s all your Dad’s fault with all his superb photos that I just cannot match. Don’t tell him I said so though.
