2011-11-29| Spike saysThanks. Firstly, I rarely use Photoshop. All my processing is done in Lightroom. For this shot, the sky is pretty much as it came out of the camera. I did add some fill light to raise the midtones so you could see more detail on the boat; and I cropped and straightened it because I never get the horizon straight! With sunset shots, you often have to dial in some negative exposure compensation otherwise the camera will try and expose them as daylight shots; but this one seemed to work without any in-camera adjustment. Just as well, because the sun was gone a few seconds later.
