To Horseshoe Point where some sort of horse jumping competition was in progress. People of all ages were mounted on horses of all sizes and the combinations were jumping over fences. You might get me on a horse; but you wouldn’t get me and the horse anywhere near a fence; so I was particularly impressed by the little kids who seemed to be jumping with more success than some of the adults.

Of course, it doesn’t always work out as it should:

I only have a 300mm lens for my Canon, and that was just a little too close; plus I had to shoot in portrait orientation which I don’t like, plus I had the shutter speed too slow to capture horses that went up and down as well as forward. As a result, the failure rate was rather high. At the end of the afternoon I tried taking a shot with the Fuji X100:

Fun to shoot for a couple of hours; but not as hard core as polo which, you will be pleased to know, will be starting up again at the end of the month.
