Champagne for everyone!

· 390 words · 2 minute read

Or, more precisely, fizzy wine for she who must be obeyed, although it didn’t look so fizzy when I photographed the remains this morning (she doesn’t drink enough to justify 4,200 baht for a bottle of champagne).

After hours of tests and more interviews than we can remember in both Pattaya and Bangkok, my clever wife has been offered a job. Next Monday she joins the local management team of a well-known Thai company; responsible for customer relations and sales promotions. I am not allowed to say more than that; but it looks like being an exciting and challenging job and I am very proud of her.

When we were first together she was working, and I rather enjoyed my time alone. But for the last two years she has not worked and I have enjoyed having her around. So it will be a little strange being without her for most of the day; but I intend spending my time wisely by playing computer games and watching TV serials embarking on a fitness regime and reading the classics.

Well done my wife; and don’t forget that I want a red Mazda MX-5 once you are earning big money.

Congratulations Mrs She who must be obeyed. It sure sounded like a long drawn out job interview so I hope the rewards are worth it!

Apparently a small sprinkle of sugar grnules in the glass would have given you the desired ‘fizzy’ look. Let me know if it works ! Congrats Mrs Spike.

Well done she! No doubt she’ll be even more able to keep you in the enviable lifestyle to which you have become so obviously well adjusted.

Unfortunately the wine was poured down the sink before I read the tip. Perhaps I need to buy some more.
