She who must be obeyed decides we are going for a cycle this evening, so we do. On Jomtien beach there is the usual gathering of ladyboys playing volleyball. I want to see whether the Fuji X100 can catch an action shot.

I manage a couple of photos and then they spotted me, at which point they dissolved into giggles and posing.

Ladyboys, sport and cameras don’t mix.

2011-09-24| Ivan saysGreat pictuers! but i really wanted to ask you about the camera? I have been using a compact for 10 years, which has started malfuctioning, (( thank god, ) . I was looking at the Fuji x10, which has not come out yet, but also came across the X100, as they compared the 2? Numerically speaking I assume X100 is much better than a X 10?? I know nothing about cameras , other than having taken pictures for 30 years, So any suggestions would be appreciated, Like is the X100 really worth $1100. US? Of course the other issue is the cost, as my Thai fiance’ is pretty clear in her english speaking abilitites , when it comes to buying $1,000. cameras??? I told her the quality of the photo’s , of her Thai cooking exploits, would improve <<< she saw through that, like a glass of water.. so any suggestions on the pitch would also be most appreciated.
2011-09-24| Spike saysThe X100 is a great camera; but is not easy to use and you really need to be into photography to tolerate its idiosyncrasies. My review is here: 2011_07_fuji-x100-review
I love it, but hesitate to recommend it.
Have a look at the Olympus XZ-1 which is less bank breaking; or the Panasonic G3 for a similar price to the X100 but comes with two lenses.
