Went to Bangkok yesterday for some crucial equipment acquisition and stayed overnight so I could meet up with Nik this morning for a little photo tour.
We met at the main railway station where the rolling stock looks sufficiently ancient to be pulled by steam; but isn’t.

Then theoretically we were off to Chinatown to shoot a few Chinese temples and life on the street. Our taxi driver has less idea than we have as to where to go and ends up by dumping us at a Thai temple somewhere that is almost but not quite in Chinatown. To make things worse, the temple is closed; until Nik launches into his best Thai and persuades a monk to open it for us. The inside is more like a disco than a temple:

Took a few shots around the temple grounds:

Nik was trying out his newly acquired, gorgeous looking, Angenieux lens.

Then it was off to look at some Chinese temples; except we never found any. Everyone we asked said there was one “down the street and round the corner”, which is Thai speak for “I have no idea, but I cannot lose face by admitting that, so I will send you somewhere far away from me”. So, a few people shots, a bowl of noodles, and we gave up.
