Peacock, that is.
In town yesterday, and there was the usual assortment of street vendors, including a man selling household brushes, and peacock feathers. Not clear how and why his business model had been expanded to include plumage as well as brushes; but she who must be obeyed was straight into negotiation mode.
Why are you buying those?
To play with the cats.
Can I photograph them first?
If you must.
I must.

Panasonic GF1 with Contax 45mm.
Yesterday’s shot was taken with a Panasonic LX3 in macro mode with the lens barrel resting on the feather; it’s ridiculous how close you can focus with that little camera.

2010-10-11| Sid saysWhen i was a kid there were 4 peacocks at my grandfathers farm for some bizzare reason, and being a kid i used to chase them and pull their feathers out!!! However, i always got a bollocking from grandmother for bringing the feathers into the house as it was considered to be very unlucky to bring the feathers indoors - you have been warned!!
