Happy Mother's Day

Today it is Thailand’s turn for mother’s day; which means the restaurants will be full of fawning families this evening and best avoided. I no longer have a mother, as her liver succumbed to many years of alcohol abuse when I was a young man. At the time of her passing I recall that my overriding emotion was one of relief. So, if you have a Mum and she isn’t currently pissed; give her a big hug.

It looked like it was going to be a dramatic sunset; so we went on the beach for some sunset shots of mothers; but although there were mothers, there was no dramatic sunset. Still, throw a couple of shots at Topaz Adjust and some drama can be added.

Spike, Her Indoors has volunteered to be your Mum.

Being 20 odd few years younger than you will be something of a challenge not, I believe, a show-stopper.

There would be many pluses to such an arrangement, not least being able to take photos of her on the beach, to send her Mother’s Day cards and perhaps even, like me, get the benefit of the occasional very excellent hot meal.

I should however warn you that while there is little danger of her damaging her liver, far less dying of it, she does like a couple of stiff G&Ts occasionally, when she can get a bit “dogmatic”.

It’s a kind offer which I would be delighted to accept. However, I expect that putting such a proposal in front of management would result in a very dogmatic rejection; irrespective of the level of G&T intake.
