After the excitement of the exploding balloons, it was time to get down to some racing. The initial races were for junior riders, and I was surprised at how junior some of them were.

The fathers looked proud, the mothers looked worried, and the sons (and daughters) looked very committed out on the track; too committed in one case and someone was put in an ambulance and sent to hospital. Good racing throughout this afternoon, although the light was not so good for photography.

They are not all so young, the above photo in the Monza kart is myself, the race number being my age.

Thanks Spike, you always see many photographers at the race meetings though seldom any idea of where they are published.
