Sorry, it’s polo again. Could be worse, could be football.

2010-01-03| Lloyd saysWhat version of Photoshop do you use for picture editing?
2010-01-03| Spike saysI very rarely use Photoshop. This one was straight out of the camera with minor adjustments in Lightroom, which is ideal for handling the hundreds of photos I might get from a shoot; and has tools to cover 99% of development needs. Can’t remember the last time I used Photoshop; but the version I have is CS4.
2010-01-03| Lloyd saysAhh, the digital compression signiture shows its as being from Photoshop, probably uses the same ’engine'.
Just upgraded to CS4 Extended might trial Lightroom though, works just as good on Windows 7 x64 as on a new Macbook Pro for which I was pleasantly surprised.
2010-01-03| Camberley saysI thought it was football, that’s why I clicked on the link :).
Lloyd the full name is Photoshop Lightroom so that’s probably why the signature shows up as Photoshop. It doesn’t feel like the same ’engine’ when you use it. With Lightroom it is almost never necessary to use CSx. It is a wonderful program.
2010-01-03| Jock saysCould be worse … could be Liverpool … can they still be classified as a football team? Expect Billy will tell us. Reading for the 4th round of the FA Cup? Benitez for the sack?
2010-01-03| Lloyd saysOne last question, would your Adobe software be the kind that you purchase online or from one of the iStudio retail outlets, or the kind that you purchase from a retail distributor the kind you see in many of the shopping malls in Thailand ;-)
2010-01-03| Spike saysCamberley, I liked you more when you were working.
Jock, any more attempts at initiating football related discussions via the comments section of this website will result in a permanent ban and the cessation of chocolate rations.
Lloyd. You download an evaluation copy from Adobe. You can then purchase a serial key. However this (the purchasing of the key) only works in various countries. This post highlights my frustration:
2008_07_adobe-and-my-toilet-are-both-full-of-it
In the end, someone gave me a key….
If I could buy a legal copy I would; it is fantastic, invaluable software and well worth the asking price. I shot 1105 photos today. Lightroom lets me manage them, develop them, print them and build a web page to display them; can’t live without it.
Version 3 is available to download as a beta release, have a play with that.
2010-01-03| Lloyd saysI did actually download a legitimate trial version of CS4 and Lightroom then being the idiot my wife keeps telling me I am I then tried to use a bogus DVD hack key, purchased from a market in Phuket Town, to get more than my 30 days trial. Needless to say I now bidding on eBay.co.uk for a copy I sincerly hope is legitimate as all I want is to cleanup and play with the 1300 or so images my wife and I have accumulated recently!
Oh BTW thank you WinZip.com for allowing me to purchase software from within Thailand using a UK visa card without paying VAT. Which I would is legal and which I would gladly do for Adobe should they one day get the intelligence to enable this functionality on their website!!!!
2010-01-03| genuinej saysLike Camberley, I thought it was about football, but then I noticed that there wasn’t a crossbar on the goal, and, incredibly, someone apparently playing golf on a pony. Whatever next?
2010-01-04| Spike saysNext, you will be depressed to know, is more of the same.
