It’s the Thailand Buggy Party Finals over the next four days. Having photographed big buggies in the morning, it seemed only right to go and photograph small buggies in the afternoon. So I did. Click to continue if you want to see weird vehicles at crazy angles for no particular purpose.

The track is huge and extremely well equipped. There is a large covered working area:

There seemed to be representation from a number of countries, this is the Kuwait team:

And the drivers stand above the pit lane so they can easily hurl abuse at the pit crews below:

Out on the track, it is mayhem. The essence of a buggy track is that there will be jumps; then the challenge is to land the thing on at least a couple of wheels. This often didn’t happen and the marshals were kept very busy extracting cars from places they should not have been. This was an accident still in progress:

The overall effect was small cars leaping in unexpected directions all over the track, making it almost impossible to find and keep focus on them; it was like trying to photograph excitable bees in flight.
