Bangalore bound

I sit surrounded by lists and camera bits, wondering how I am going to get it all on the plane, while a fretting she who must be obeyed worries about the trip and keeps telling me how much she is going to miss me. I will miss her too, but expect I will also be somewhat busy chasing a bunch of rally cars round the Indian countryside.

I don’t know much about the itinerary yet. I am to be met at the airport this evening by car and driver and whisked to the house of the rally organiser, where I will stay the night. Tomorrow we will be up early to recce the route along with the drivers, so I can pick places to photograph the action.

Thereafter is a mystery, but I am sure it is going to fun, photogenic and a source of stories. If I end up somewhere with wi-fi (and this is very likely given that the city fathers of Bangalore have a project to wi-fi enable the entire city), then I shall update Pattaya Days as best I can.

OK, enough talk, where’s the roti?

Have you not learned from your years with the Great Pecten? - the car and driver will not show up, you will book into a hotel other than the one that was booked for you and will have to argue the toss over it being more expensive, and ….

Just hope you took a few phone numbers with you and understand Hindi ….. and Bon Voyage
