An official day of rest

The palatial offices of Pattaya Days have been closed today to mark the auspicious occasion that is she who must be obeyed’s birthday.

I am sure you will all want to join me in telling her that she is getting quite old now. Oh, and happy birthday!

How old is quite old? I feel quite old myself but would welcome some guidance as to how old old is, and how old is quite old, just in case I’m not quite as old as I thought I might be. Or should I just stay quiet?

P.s. Also wish Mrs. S a happy birthday, although this wish is quite late.

I did tell her. Turns out that was a mistake.

She’s older than she was and younger than she’ll be, that’s not unusual (thank you Mr. Simon). Let’s just say she won’t see 31 again.
