This 52 year-old guy picked up a girl on Beach Road, took her back to his hotel for some Ugandan discussions, and then they returned to the beach for a sit and a beer. Four brave Thai guys then arrive, beat him up, and steal all his possessions. They then take off, taking the girl with them.
Amongst the stolen items was a pile of Euro notes. The police alert moneychangers around town to be watching out for large sums of Euros being exchanged. Sure enough, Joe Kompoon, being stupid as well as a coward, presents himself at a money changer the next day with 500 Euros and is now in custody, and the police now have the names of the rest of the gang.
Be careful out there; especially in Beach Road at 0200.
