More than a year ago I highlighted the campaign for the new major, and pointed out the depressing state of some of the local roads.
Thirteen months on, and although some of the road widening projects appear to be near completion, the stretch of Thappraya road I highlighted in the previous post remains abysmal.
The situation has gone from crap to something worse than crap with the arrival of a large hole across half the road.
A gang of eager workmen stood and watched while a digger made a large hole, and then everyone went away, leaving the traffic to negotiate a narrow, crumbling dirt track.
The purpose is unclear. As it is next to the sales office of yet another soon to be doomed housing project, she who must be obeyed rather wittily suggested that the hole might be a receptacle for all their sales bullshit. Whatever the purpose, it will no doubt remain an annoying hole for many weeks, nay months, thus further screwing up the traffic in our little patch of so-called paradise.
