The manual says you can take it down to 3 metres below the surface, and can drop it onto a hard surface without damage; but then goes on to say you should not jump into a swimming pool with it, perhaps hinting that a force of water may not be beneficial. Still, there is no mention of not strapping it to your head and then catapulting off a windsurfing board, so I am sure it will be fine.
