“I knew we were in trouble from the moment we stepped on board”, said a clearly shaken Mrs. Betty Kernberger, spokesperson of the Ohio Extremely Obese Ladies Society.
The society, undertaking their annual “all you can eat” tour of Thailand, had chartered the good ship Galatea to take them to Koh Larn Island off Pattaya.
The combined weight of the thirty five ladies and the several kilos of snacks they had taken on board for the journey, was just too much for the ageing vessel and she became partially submerged within a few hundred metres of leaving the jetty.
" Next time we’ll charter a battleship" joked Mrs. Kernberger. Or maybe lose some weight?
