Were we? Yes, see previous posts re. concrete.
The junction of Theppasit Road and Thappraya Road could hardly be declared an area of outstanding natural beauty, unless it was situated within a 5 kilometre radius of Chernobyl. But even the glowing, multi-headed residents of Chernobyl might reconsider the designation since some bright spark decided to erect an ugly metal tower.
Much conjecture during construction. Was it a mini version of a View Talay concrete cereal box condo? Was it a launch gantry for a Thai space shot. Nope, it was yet another bloody billboard receptacle, just what we needed to cheer the place up.

What is slightly cheering is that they have failed to rent out the space to anyone since they erected it. Hah!

2009-03-14| todd saysI’ve considered asking my girlfriend to call the number and ask how much they are renting all those spots out for…
they are probably charging a hideous amount of money for the current economic climate, they should just be accepting any offers at all just to get the cash-flow coming in and to make it more attractive for more people in the future…
but - that would be a real world solution, and thailand is outside of the real world.
an example would be the bilboard on top of our building on sukumvit - 500,000 for 1 year (people are paying it - albeit a property developer that’ll probably soon be out of cash and wondering why)
its not like we’re the only prime ad space on sukumvit, besides the other million roof top ad spaces, there’s a bajillion more in the middle of the road.
i’m still in the midset that mass billboard campaigns are for branding - apartment buildings aren’t at brand - the money is better spent on direct marketing through agencies etc.
