To coincide with the opening of the new Central mall, Pattaya had its own Mardi Gras parade yesterday. As Mardi Gras means “fat Tuesday”, it was only appropriate that it be held on a Friday. The organisers had announced that the themes would be Thai Contemporary Arts; Modern Beach Lifestyle and Under the Sea Celebration. In the event the theme just seemed to be bar girls (and boys) on the back of trucks, but nothing wrong with that.
We were positioned on the route at 1545, fifteen minutes before the parade was due to commence. Two hours later it trundled into motion, leaving little daylight time for photos. But I got a few, hope you like them….
