Just down the road from the floating market is Nong Nuch Tropical Garden, so we go there. I have complained in the past about the volume of concrete and scaffolding that has been thrown up around the park, and the pristine gardens have been further encroached upon by metal walkways and structures, but there are still some gardens and wildlife to enjoy.
Avoided like a particularly nasty plague that has just evolved into an even more unpleasant strain, has been the “cultural show”. I experienced it once and nightmares followed; but as I was acting as tour guide I felt I should do the decent thing and scar Colin and Mary for life by subjecting them to it. In the event it was not as long as I remembered, and not as bad as I remembered; but I hope I don’t have to go again.
