The day the world changed. Apparently.

It certainly was a momentous moment. The realisation of a dream. The day the world changed, if just a little. Could a black man (sorry, a man of colour) really win in an arena which had previously been a white domain? What’s more, this was not a story of privilege, it was the story of a man from a humble background whose family had recognised that he was someone special and had worked together to help him realise his potential over many years.

On the fateful day, we watched our televisions with bated breath, the outcome uncertain until the end. But he did it!

Congratulations Lewis Hamilton on being a worthy Formula One World Champion. Cute girlfriend too.

I was really excited there for a minute … Tiger Woods is my hero … and then you let me down … what is Formula One??

After losing to Raikkonen by 1 point last year, it’s fitting that Lewis beat Massa by 1 point this year… Passing Glock on the last turn of the last lap was spectacular, after being passed by Vettel 2 laps earlier…

Funny, I thought you were going on about Obama myself…

Tiger Woods who? Obama what?

Well done Spike on not becoming politically embroiled, the mention of LH stopped the steam from coming out of my ears! Yes, great achievement to win WC despite FIA efforts to give it to Ferrari. Hope your recovery continues at a pace. Johnno

The last corner of the last lap. One of the most exciting races I have seen.
