On a weekend evening, the main street in Malacca is converted into a pedestrian only area and stalls are set up everywhere.

In the Chinese meeting halls, people enjoy Tai Chi, music recitals and karaoke. This is not just a tourist destination, it is a vibrant community.

At the end of the street there was an outdoor communal karaoke. One young lady attempted to mask her atrocious singing voice by being accompanied on stage by two exceedingly weird “dancers.”

The weirdest of weird dancers finished his spot and then sat down close to the stage and brought out a pair of ancient opera glasses to check out the competition.
