Time to say goodbye to Harry and Jackie and head home. I hate goodbyes, especially when I don’t know when I will see them again; so it was a quick hug with dust in the eyes, and into the taxi for the airport.
Malaysia in general and Malacca in particular seemed to be doing very well, with plenty of tourists from all over the globe enjoying good food, friendly people and a vibrant culture. A change from the low-season moanings coming out of Thailand. If life in Thailand falls to pieces, then I know where I will be heading as a very acceptable alternative. I lived in Malaysia for seven years in a previous life, would happily go back and live on roti chanai and fish curry till my intestines exploded.
Air Asia carries me back to Thailand on time and she who must be obeyed has wangled some time off work to come and collect me from the airport. At home I am greeted with total disinterest by the cats, which was to be expected. All that remains is to process six hundred photographs.
