I've gone again, and I'm really upset

· 209 words · 1 minute read

My wide wide world of web connectivity has disappeared down the toilet of mediocrity. It is disconnecting every few minutes, no doubt this post will take forever to process.

I am promised a visit from a “technician” today who, from the experience of others, will bugger up my router and leave me worse than he found me.

Witty and yet strangely profound postings will continue (Ed: did they ever start?) once this technological mess has been resolved. Until then, please amuse yourselves.

Thank you.

login to your router, is the signal physically dropping?

main issue i had with maxnet is their DNS. theirs always dies so I use a 3rd party dns (opendns)

try updating your dns to:

208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

and see how it goes. either way you should.

I think it’s the rain, normally it is very fast. Will try the alternative DNS, thanks.

Not as bad as the ‘Blue Screen Of Death’ that I experienced the other day … second time in two years .. ‘panic’ …. solved by deleting a few unused folders and several hundred old emails from Outlook and rebooting … PHEW !!!
