Time for a our monthly update on the construction of Ocean 1 tower, the 91 floor mega-condo which will change the skyline of Jomtien for ever. Originally planned to start construction in 2006, there have been some delays, such that, as of two months ago, construction had still not started.
But what a change there has been over the past few weeks! Rather than detailing all the exciting work on the construction site, just compare the two photos below. One was taken two months ago and the other was taken this morning. It’s easy to spot which is which!
At this rate of progress it is difficult to estimate just how long it will be before the wise investors can move into their new condos.

2008-08-09| The Ghost saysYour pal behind this place was in Coyotee’s the nother night – actually, I’m told he’s in there EVERY night – and, just across the stage was this stupidly rich – and stupid with money – American doctor who has a deposit on one of the units.
Coyotee’s owner, who had been plying the doctor (and me of course) with drinks, had to basically block the guy into his corner table to prevent him from going across the bar and confront the guy.
Odd, however, since – according to Coyotee’s boss – the doctor said he spent $10 MILLION over the past decade that he can’t account for. Just gone to partying, women, travel, etc.
What’s a 96-story condo here or there?
