If you want to see an example of athletes with extra-special levels of determination, head to the indoor stadium in Jomtien tomorrow for the wheelchair sports event. I went there a couple of years ago and plan to go again tomorrow. The main event is baskteball, and it is played with levels of aggression and commitment you would not believe.
When I went last time, the Iranian team won, and they were hard, fast and extremely fit.
Also on the agenda is fencing.

2008-08-23| Jock saysIndeed these peole do not hang about. I remember seeing a Paralympics womens basketball match in Assen and there were many wheelchair crashes that ended up with the occupants on the floor and then dragging themselves back on to the chair for another go.
