Smooth moves, up on a SUP

Down to the windsurfing club where the surf was up but the wind had gone. But Craig was out on the water with the SUP and looking good playing in the surf.

The presence of the camera obviously encouraged him to try some more advanced tricks (i.e., he was showing off). First there was the popular SUP-on-the-side, where the board is held vertically and the rider stays on by convincing himself that gravity is just an illusion. Not as stable as it looks.

Then we have the anything-Jesus-can-do walking on water stunt. Not as divine as it looks.

And now the one legged turn, complete with optional Folies Bergere dancing kick. Not as gay as it looks.

And finally, the little seen, little appreciated and totally meaningless paddle balancing act. Note the complete absence of a safety net. Don’t try this at home.

We all start somewhere… Can you believe we teach this now? (about 1,000 hours later and using wider boards for newbies.)
