Not a large cat

Driving home from grocery shopping and we pass a development of small houses which, when first completed. was surrounded by a small wall. But now there is a very high metal railing with spikes, no doubt erected because robberies had been experienced; or that’s how I explained it to the wife.

She responded by telling me of a Thai saying along the lines that there is no point building a fence after your cow has disappeared. I patiently explained that they had not had a cow stolen, more likely mobile phones and flat-screen televisions. For my patience I received a slap on the head and “no, you idiot, it’s a meta-purr!”

I briefly wondered whether a meta-purr was some form of monster kitty; until I realised she meant metaphor. She knows the words, but sometimes they come out wrong.

The reality is that she thinks I am wonderful and I know I am an idiot, while she thinks she is an idiot and I know she is wonderful. Its a ying and yang thing.
